A heat exchanger is in practice a container, in which two fluids separated by a thin wall by a thin wall heat exchange without mixing.

The tube bundle heat exchangers are designed for maximum efficiency by limiting the dispersions maximizing the yield even if between the two fluids there is a difference in temperature is not high: in these cases widens the heat exchange surface.

The calculation and design of the heat exchanger tube bundle takes into account various parameters (thermodynamic characteristics, fouling factor, pressure, temperature) through the use of software.
