The flushing is a common operation in industrial chemical processes and requires dedicated equipment.
The flushing barrels are used in various chemical and pharmaceutical processes and must withstand elevate operating pressures.
For this reason, flushing drums are designed in accordance with ISPESL VSR standards and must comply with the PED directive.
Flushing barrels must have then some technical features useful for monitoring the process parameters (one or more visual indicators) and to support the corrosion resistance (such as pickling the surface).
